These images are part of an exhibit currently on view at the Athenaeum Gallery in Alexandria, VA. A Statement regarding the abstract images in this show: By isolating details out of a larger picture and changing them with feeling and vitality, I have established an intimacy with certain subject matter. In that abstractions are often unrecognizable as objects, I view them as objects in themselves. The image "is" the object, an entity in itself. Abstraction also extends the amorphous nature of feeling itself. Where words can fail, a "thing" or an object can describe a feeling or, at times, a feeling can better be described by a gesture or a sound. In my mind, there is a confluence of sound, gesture and object that exist on a non-verbal plane.
